The Power of the Word - Vibrations Count!

The Power of the Word - Vibrations Count! When I finished reading Be Still and Get Going by Rabbi Alan Lew and it brought me back to Florence Shinn’s book The Game of Life and How to Play It. The power of the spoken word. Spoken words are vibrations of sound. Some vibrations feel great, others good and then there are those not that good. Oh great, the song Good Vibrations from the Beach Boys just popped into my head so I am going to have that melody jumping around while I write. Not a bad rhythm to type to, so I'll honor it until it ends. So, Alan Lew talks about energy, pure raw energy, and how it can organize itself to manifest into something. Stay with me on this. Pure energy is free and when it gets organized a little bit you get an idea! Then you have thoughts about that idea. It's still all in your head and your body starts getting a little excited, angry, curious, or sad but the energy is still contained. Then you speak and let it out! The energy is now beyond your...

Good Job Triceps

Good Job Triceps! The body is so amazing. I adore its ability to hold and transfer energy having it be so graceful. Then you see it being so rigid and sputtery unsure of its next move. I believe the body sputters for two reasons. First, it is trying to learn a new neuro pathway of a skill. From piano to learning how to do a pivotal lunge requires great demand of control for desired length and depth. The key is the ability to safely return to start to repeat the action. This is an area I am very passionate about, and I will control myself not to go off topic. The second reason is that of pain or the fear of pain. We are in constant battle against gravity trying to take us down on every move. Our bodies work hard trying not to do so from the three arches in our feet to the three vestibular canals in our ears. Any threat to its safety generating pain triggers the fight, flight or freeze response. We are focusing on the freeze response. We hear a sound. FREEZE! What was that? OUCH! W...

https://youtu.be/-QBZJCBT4v0 I had the opportunity to be interviewed by Biz to Biz Joy Ruffen Oak! It was so much fun.  We talked about fitness and it migrated into Golf Fitness. If the clock wasn't running I'm sure we could have carried on! Enjoy the show. - Godelieve

Stuffed Animals and the Snugga-Huggability Test

Stuffed animals help you repackage your spirit.   I loved my stuffed animals!     Each animal had its own personality and I loved how each character would be able to give  me  “that look”.   I remember the conversations I would have with each bear and dog.  I would spill my heart and soul into each of them. The fears I shared with one dog I  would come  back to celebrate  my success.   So  why  is  it so difficult to finally get rid of those smelly, dusty and so loved stuffed animals?   Especially the ones sitting  in your parent’s attic begging .    Then s omething came to me  when I realized t hese loved stuffed animals ARE  YOUR  heart and soul.    They brought security and unconditional love.  They absorbed all your tears and fears. They always took your side. They were always waiting for your return and at times went along for the ride.   As adults ...

Tetherball mentality and beliefs

Recently I have been suffering from a groin strain from trying to pull start a lawn mower that didn't want to start. Pulling and tugging on that string on an ever resistant growing machine I had to lean on the husband and scream that we need a new machine this one is finished. He reminded me that it used to have a push start but I broke it. Mind you years ago. Humans are awful where we keep injuring ourselves and others with a story. The pain never goes away. It keeps repeating itself. Angry, knowing that I got hurt from trying to start the machine I knew it was going to be a long haul. I felt the tug. I felt the shoulder, ribs and spine yell that misery was on the way. He started the machine, after several yanks and I was off. Mad, frustrated and happy to cut the lawn for close to 3 hours. Disappearing to the sound and walking 5 miles on a one acre lot of land. I punched.  I spun and now idle against a cemented pole. I attended a 3 day virtual conference that challenged...

Thank you body for being there.

I ran a workshop several years ago called "Creating a Work-In vs a Work-Out".  I started the workshop with the general health history of the obvious health and injury issues we need to know for our baseline before we start any kind of exercise program. We then regressed into injuries from childhood writing all bumps and bruises or mishaps. The exercise took a while as I stressed not to disqualify anything and to write down everything they could remember.  One childhood injury for me were the pebbles stuck in my knee from jumping off a swing on it's highest moment. Another, I was riding my bike and got thrown off by the neck from a rope I couldn't see tied between two trees. A red and blue rope becomes invisible against brick red apartments. It left a pretty nasty rope burn. Fun walking around with that as a kid!  Fortunately, it was nothing serious, yet an injury.  You get the point. When finished, I had them look at what they wrote from the eyes of a stranger with p...
