The Power of the Word - Vibrations Count!
When I finished reading Be Still and Get Going by Rabbi Alan Lew and it brought me back to Florence Shinn’s book The Game of Life and How to Play It. The power of the spoken word.
Spoken words are vibrations of sound. Some vibrations feel great, others good and then there are those not that good. Oh great, the song Good Vibrations from the Beach Boys just popped into my head so I am going to have that melody jumping around while I write. Not a bad rhythm to type to, so I'll honor it until it ends.
So, Alan Lew talks about energy, pure raw energy, and how it can organize itself to manifest into something. Stay with me on this. Pure energy is free and when it gets organized a little bit you get an idea! Then you have thoughts about that idea. It's still all in your head and your body starts getting a little excited, angry, curious, or sad but the energy is still contained. Then you speak and let it out! The energy is now beyond yourself and out there as a vibration of sound. Speaking is action and now you act on that thought to create something. That something can be as simple as making lunch to building a rocket. As Bob Proctor says “If you can see it in your head, you can hold it in your hand.”
I love Florence Shinn! I bought many copies of her book to give as gifts for she was truly ahead of her time. She speaks about the power of the universe or as she calls it the 4th dimension. Whatever vibration you put out will come back kinda like Karma but not exactly. For example, a child would dress in black and play widow. She finally grows, gets married and quickly becomes a widow. Her vibration manifested itself and became real. This is not a happy story which drives the point home action speaks louder than words.
But this is about words. Words can hurt. Words can support. Words can heal. Words can demolish. We have that power to use it well towards others and especially ourselves. The way we speak about ourselves regarding our dreams, our friends and family, our responsibilities sets the vibration in which we function. If we speak in a higher and more loving vibration, the things we want to happen have a better chance of manifesting. Sounds so positive and it is! Crappy things do happen that are out of our control. We can dwell in it lowering our vibration or rise above and move forward.
Florence does make a point to make sure we ask right. She refers to a gardener who wanted to live in a large house with plenty of windows to see the garden. He got his wish but lived in the basement. He didn’t ask right. I guess he missed a couple of powerful words. So what do you want to manifest and at what level of vibration? In order to receive it you need to function at the level of vibration. Your words will help you raise the vibration in yourself and others. So ask right and add the disclaimer “this or something better please!”
Cheers to raising your vibrations!
